Our Chapter’s History

The Philadelphia Metropolitan Chapter of the Appraisal Institute technically covers the City of Philadelphia and its four surrounding Pennsylvania counties of Bucks, Montgomery, Chester and Delaware. However, some of our Chapter members live or work beyond this immediate region in the Lehigh Valley, the Susquehanna Valley, New Jersey, or Delaware.

Just as the Appraisal Institute was formed by the 1990 merger of the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers and the Society of Real Estate Appraisers, our Chapter came about with the merger of AIREA’s Chapter #9 and the Society’s Chapter #2.
